39th Annual Student Art Exhibition Guidelines for Preliminary Submission of Artwork
• Each student is allowed up to two (2) entries per studio area.
• M.A. in Art students are not eligible to submit entries.
• An entry is a single work, or a work composed of several pieces. Ex. Series of photos, set of bowls, diptych or triptych. Note: In view of limited space we may ask you to edit down your multi-piece artwork.
• Works must have been completed in the 2008-2009 academic year.
• Studio areas are: Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Photography, Ceramics, Glass, Graphic Design, Wood and Furniture Design, Printmaking, Art Education, New Genres (video art), and Foundations (2-D Design, 3-D Design, Intro to Drawing, Art & Tech)
• To submit work for a studio area, student must have been enrolled in a course or independent study for that area during the 2008-2009 academic year.
• Entries must be display-ready at time of drop-off. Works not ready for display will not be accepted. Ex. If the work is to be displayed in a frame, it must be framed by the student when delivered. Note: Decisions about how work is to be displayed will be left to the Museum staff (consultations with artists will be held in the event that clarification is needed).
• Judging of entries will take place on Monday, June 1st. Notification of accepted works will be posted outside the Art Department office at 8AM Tuesday, June 2nd.
• Works not accepted MUST be picked up by 4PM on Wednesday, June 3rd. Works can be claimed from Gallery 106 (next to elevator). California State University, San Bernardino, the Art Department and the Robert V. Fullerton Art Museum are not responsible for artwork that has not been claimed by its owner.

Robert V. Fullerton Art Museum 39th Annual Student Art Exhibition poster
The Robert V. Fullerton art museum is looking for an original and talented mind to design this year’s 39th Annual Student Art Exhibition poster. Each year the RVF Art Museum hosts a Student Art Exhibition, a wonderful opportunity for CSUSB Art Students to gain some professional exposure.
Any student taking art classes at CSUSB is welcome to compete. The winning designer will receive an honorarium of $100. Theme and style of the poster is open to the imagination, but designs will be judged by museum staff members for creativity, originality and content.
Entries must be print ready and received no latter than April 29, 2008. Please submit final poster draft to the museum office (VA-105). For more information or details on the event please contact the RVF Art Museum secretary at 909-537-7783 or by e-mail at artmuseum@csusb.edu.

Guidelines:
Overall dimensions will be: 12” x 17” (unfolded) and 6” x 8 1/2” (folded)
Designs must be submitted to the museum office by 5 PM April 29, 2008. Entries received after this date will not be considered.
Multiple entries by a single artist will be accepted.
Entries will be judged and chosen by museum staff.
Museum staff reserves the right to choose the most appropriate design.
Submissions must be in electronic form and print ready.

EMERGE is an exhibition of student graphic design work from all of the design programs in the L.A. area. See and be inspired by the high-quality student design work being done in the various programs.
The exhibition is organized and sponsored by AIGA Los Angeles and participating institutions include: Art Center, Art Institute of California, Cal Arts, LMU, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State Long Beach, Cal State L.A., Cal State Northridge, UCLA Extension, Westwood, Woodbury, USC, Otis.
Students will display their graphic design work in a variety of media.In conjunction with this exhibition, AIGA/LA will be awarding a number of student scholarships, in support of emerging designers at the reception on February 7.

Job Title: Graphic Design Intern, Creative Department / FX Signs Inc. in Riverside. Position is non-paid, part-time, and not to exceed 3 months. Immediate hire. Hours: 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday to Thursday, negotiable
Job description: The successful candidate will be responsible for graphics projects commenced upon employment that are significant to the development of FX Signs Inc. and therefore must possess an advanced command of Adobe® Illustrator and Adobe® Photoshop. This position is an unpaid internship at FX Signs in Riverside, providing essential exposure to the private sector, and is not to exceed three consecutive months.
Upon employment, the intern will be working directly under the supervision of the lead graphic designer who will be assigning tasks which vary from design work to production. This will be an unpaid position from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, and scheduling is negotiable.

The Rainmaker Network's mission is to connect talented university students with innovative, progressive, and environmentally aware employers. Our participating organizations span a broad range of product and service offerings but pursue a common goal of responsible global impact. As such, we look for Rainmaker Members that share these values and wish to work in pursuit of great careers and a better world.
Duties would include Web 2.0 marketing efforts, non-profit club outreach, and student membership development through alternative media at UC and Cal State schools throughout Southern California.
Position entails a 90 day trial period then paid at a rate of $20 per hour for 10 to 20 hours per week plus a bonus structure. This internship runs through June 2009 with opportunity for a FULL TIME position at the end of the term.
Candidate should be well versed in new media outlets, mac and pc savvy, punctual, self-motivated, and eager to explore new ways to reach out to a variety of cross-organizational interests.

Student Addy Competition
The American Advertising Federation Student ADDY Awards Competition is a unique national awards program designed specially for college students. Work entered in the Los Angeles competition will be judged by advertising professionals and be eligible to receive local awards. Winners then move up to AAF District 15 competition to be judged against the winners in other local competitions from throughout Southern California and Southern Nevada. Then District winners advance to the national finals against the other 14 district winners from all over the country. Each of the last several years, Los Angeles Competition Students have gone on to win national gold awards.
Applicants must be enrolled full- or part-time in an accredited U.S. educational institution. Student interns are eligible to enter.
Submit work developed specifically for this competition or from previous projects or student contests (work must be created while the entrant is a student not employed in the advertising industry).
The deadline for entries is January 22, 2009.
